My Dad owned a timber logging company

When I was a kid I was expected to be
in the woods with them when I wasn’t
in school.

This was in the early 70s. A few guys had the job of cutting
the top out of downed trees with big ass chain saws.

They would occasionally get cut. Bad. 150 stitches in the
shoulder bad. When they got home from the hospital
they would wrap a kerosene soaked rag around the wound.

They would be back on the job the next week running a chain saw.

It takes away the soreness and inflammation.

I won’t try to explain why but it works.

I still put it on cuts now.

Yeah the bone stopped the blade. I'm working today. Just going slowly and carefully. I fucked up getting hurt. Stupid to pit my hand the way I did.

Yowser!

I nicked my thumb last year with a 1/4" high table saw blade and realized that saw blade doesn't give a rat's ass if it's cutting wood or flesh!

Hospital bill came to $5K and thinking about it I could have purchased a really nice SawStop table saw for that much dough!

Hindsight....

Heal well!
