So once you get a shoulder fixed, you are going to be permanently limited in the weight room? Or is it a case by case basis? Can't bench over 145lbs and sore from time to time but yeah all good
I'm sure everyone is different, i limit myself as a precaution cause I don't want to go through it again. However once you get cut on it will never be as strong imoSo once you get a shoulder fixed, you are going to be permanently limited in the weight room? Or is it a case by case basis?
Thanks. Trying to get informed on all this.I'm sure everyone is different, i limit myself as a precaution cause I don't want to go through it again. However once you get cut on it will never be as strong imo
Is the reason for the delay for the MRI due to your schedule or due to MRI not being available until then? Just curious.Thanks. Trying to get informed on all this.
I’ll know a lot more after MRI
Also depends on your insurance, crappy insurance companies will make you wait or go through therapy before approving an MRI.Is the reason for the delay for the MRI due to your schedule or due to MRI not being available until then? Just curious.
Depends on the extent of the surgery. Mine was pretty serious. Two years in now, I can do 75lb dumbells on the bench for reps and I feel a little muscle soreness afterwards. However, I have changed my workouts to be more intense with no less than 8-10 reps.So once you get a shoulder fixed, you are going to be permanently limited in the weight room? MRI is a week from today. It was ordered Tuesday and I scheduled it yesterdayIs the reason for the delay for the MRI due to your schedule or due to MRI not being available until then? Just curious.
I like doing all the power clings and snatches and stuff. I hope I can do them again, but I really don’t have a lot of options anymoreDepends on the extent of the surgery. Mine was pretty serious. My standing press has lost lot's of power. You can work to rebuild it.
YEah.... that will go on hold for a bit.I like doing all the power clings and snatches and stuff. I hope I can do them again, but I really don’t have a lot of options anymore
Yeah I’m done for now anyways, just a matter of if I’ll ever be able to do it againYEah.... that will go on hold for a bit.
Get with a great sports surgeon and pt specialist
Being such a fan of the Circus Elephant, perhaps they will allow you to use their rehab facilities.
Yeah DO NOT use the PT at your ortho office if they have one. Find a sports rehab facility if you know someone that is in HS sports they can usually tell you the best ones to go to. Cost is the same assuming it is on your insurance.YEah.... that will go on hold for a bit.

What are the details behind this?Yeah DO NOT use the PT at your ortho office if they have one. Find a sports rehab facility if you know someone that is in HS sports they can usually tell you the best ones to go to. Cost is the same assuming it is on your insurance.
Because an orthopedic office PT are usually fresh off the boat. Sports Rehab facilities are have much better experience especially if you want to get active again. What are the details behind this?
I get most of my health care at the VA. Strangely, I generally approve of their care and treatments. But, I learned early on they would not adjust their rules for me so I adjusted my views to work within their system. Makes it much easier to navigate. Every MD I've seen is associated with UT Southwestern Medical School as the VA is a teaching hospital for the med school as well as having residency programs for their MDs. Since most of us are "olds" we have lots of issues for them to get exposure to and practice with/on.Also depends on your insurance, crappy insurance companies will make you wait or go through therapy before approving an MRI.
