Today is the most difficult day of the year for me. I do not cry, but I do sometimes weep Tears of Patriotism. And I am not ashamed to admit that this morning I sobbed openly, and at times uncontrollably, at Hardee’s as I thought of our greatest president, Benjamin Franklin.
President Franklin was born in the United States of America 300 years ago.
He went on to invent freedom, democracy, capitalism, currency, and most of all, electricity. His inaugural address, in which he told his fellow countrymen that
“the only thing we have to fear is fear itself” and “ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country,” was one for the ages He spent the next eight years in the Oval Office turning America into the oldest and greatest country on earth.
We miss you, Mr President.
We miss you ever single day
