From your own words, you reject that the bible is God's word, because man must've changed some things. There are of course fanciful and absurd "editions" of the bible, yet any Christian with any discernment at all can see how phony those are. That you can't differentiate between them and God's word and try to make that the issue, covering for what you've said otherwise, exposes your dishonesty in the matter.

For over 350 years, the King James bible was the primary translation to the english-speaking people of the world. There is no better place to start. Any "edition" that strays far from it is false.

Let God's words speak for themself: "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." That you think that you can pick and choose what is real and what is not is not only arrogance, it's apostasy. God's word is the foundation of any believers life. Paul made it clear that there is no way to a relationship with Christ without the word. If there is no certainty in its truth, then you might as well join forces with Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins and accept that everything is meaningless, and enjoy watching the world as it burns.
