If a plant built in 1969 is running its likely a marginal unit with a high heat rate or a peaker depending on where you live.
Wind as a primary source of electricity is not sustainable and you can argue it’s not really renewable given what it takes to create.
infrastructure / transmission is a real issue as well as storage.
All renewables receive subsidies (recs, ptc rins)without that they make even less sense
. Wait till you see the subsidies for the 500000 charging stations they want to build. Biogas to EC is the next new tax on people who refuse or cannot afford to go electric vehicles
