and I hate that social media is a double edged knife. On one side you have people getting blocked and censored trying to get truth out and on the other you have people who purposefully or without researching post untruths that muddy the waters.

It isn't the freedom of the speech that is the problem. It's the lack of personal accountability. Internet privacy laws, while overwhelmingly popular, almost certainly even in this thread, provide cover for people to spread disinformation without fear of repercussion. And I don't see a way around it.

Discernment is a skill that must be taught. If you don't have it, you must acquire it.
 
One of my good buddies went to the DC rally (all the way from IA). He of course did not storm the capitol but was there to witness it. He has a small social media presence, and he posted a picture with a Trump hash tag that blew up. He started getting a ton of hate, death threats, etc. and ended up doing a short interview on ABC Nightline that night. He's a big believer in a lot of what is discussed here.

Anyway, we have an old mutual friend who lives in CA now who sent him this text when he found out he was there. Unbelievable:

For a supposedly being such racist group, I can’t even recall an out of place joke regarding race since I’ve followed this thread or watched coverage of Trump rallies. It’s like we are living in a bizarro world 🤷‍♂️

The only up for debate is the Kushner issue. The rest has been legitimately confirmed, IMO.
