Even the churches are being corrupted. The church across the street from mine is a First United Methodist (mine is Episcopal, which is liberal enough, although my priest is not liberal). I drove by the other church and noticed a gay pride flag hanging on one of the back office windows. A church.

Are you in the south or rural?

This sorta thing is pretty common up north in cities and it's not like Ohio is a blue state by any means.

Churches are the most desperate "organizations" in America. They had their chance to stand up and man out but they blew it. They have no relevance to our social interactions any longer. As Nietzsche said: "God is dead." And if you think he meant that our God has literally died no need to read any further.

You know as well as I that the moral fabric that was once under the strong arm protection of "the church" (and I don't mean Catholic) the American people had boudaries. They had morals. They taught those morals to their kids and then their kids laugh them to their kid and on and on. Today that is all gone for the most part.

We can't keep our kids in glass houses. The world today's children are growing up in is godless and their personas pay the price. They have no moral compass to guide them, so how can we be surprised wehnthey join the new socialist movements and think that they can create a better world. How can we be surprise when our ENTIRE schools system from 1st to a Masters Degree is based on the faculty teaching the KIDS WHAT TO THINK instead of teaching them how to learn.

Knowing that this core dynamic is true, we don't have much to get excited about and thus we too, like the churches, become desperate and irrelevant in shaping the future.

It all goes back to the hippy generation. I don’t know what the hell went wrong, but they screwed it up for sure. Maybe it was a change in parenting from the previous generation surviving the horrors of WW2. The Episcopal church started to change in the 70s which I believe is a direct result of the counter culture movement. They updated the prayer book and made it more “friendly”. You can read it in the prayers. All the parts that spotlight our natural born sin is sanitized or removed completely.

*schools are teaching kids what to think, not how to think.

Mostly what I heard in church was repent and obey. Maybe I didn't understand their meaning of repent. I plan to talk about it tonight. I can't say I've ever attended a church that taught the same gospel that Paul (used to be Saul) taught.

So the left woke is a religion. That act like one. Example is if you counter their points they say you haven’t checked your privilege and you need to be woke, similar to Christians who will argue similarly about the illogical Bible and you must not believe, but save your self and be part of the tribe.

in any case, religious people are more likely to to be silent and early boomers who saw some sh*t in their youth. They are dyeing out… and the woke religion is taking over. It’s all cycles, the world is going and going to go thru a winter.. the youngins now will find their way back to worshiping the dead Jew on the cross.

I freely admit my faith isnt what it should be. But I blame the church institution. Its seems to be all about the collection plate and building "Six Flags over Jesus" type churches.

When I'm at a keyboard, I'll share the story of the straw that broke the camel's back.
I agree. My best friend was killed in 9/11. He was a devout catholic and as a young 24 year old I was looking for an answer. I went to 5 different churches and they all seemed rushed or just in your face. I settled to spend my Sunday’s on the beach enjoying God through his creations.
