Here's the thing, they're aren't just "20 detractors"

only 20 detractors can cast their vote on the record in opposition to McCarthy or Jeffries wins the vote

There are many many others

For the media and the establishment Rs to act as though it's only 20 is disingenuous at best

I think we end up with Chip Roy. His Donalds nomination was for show to build consensus in opposition to McCarthy. Just my opinion that's also probably clouded by hope.

Yeah, I think you’re right. I’m not even letting myself entertain the idea. No one is talking Gaetz and he seems to be the one the anti-establishment pubs are rallying around.

Will they just keep voting, over and over, until someone is elected into the Speaker of the House position? I don't understand why they just keep going back to back to back, etc, just to get the same results. If they haven't come to an agreement in between votes, do they really expect a different outcome?

Why not just delay the vote for a day or even hours, so they can get together and figure out a plan? If it's not McCarthy that can get the votes, figure out someone else.
It’s not Pubs vs Dems. It’s DC insiders vs a few Patriots. Patriots are far outnumbered.

All are going thru the motions trying continue the illusion of a two party system.
