The reason some are designed this way is because the rotation of what is being secured would loosen the bolt if standard clockwise tighten.
Some examples: the single nut on the right wheels of Nascar race cars. The bolt on a toilet flush handle.
Well i watched it again and it is not a lug nut that he is tightening counterclockwise. I appears to be something on the axle. Maybe a gear packer nut. Which would make sense as the axle on the right side rotates clockwise, so the gear nut would be best tightened counter.Not on a Jeep lug
