The Buick Turbo in my Avatar is an '86. Still have her. Kix, GNR, Def Leppard, April Wine, Rush, Scorpions, Molly Hatchet and Triumph still at the ready to crank in there .. and it happens on the reg.
Nice! I’m usually more partial to the heavier side, but Rush is a fav. I listened to April Wine Nature of the Beast a lot until the NWOBHM bands came along. I still like a bit of hair metal too but usually only when the musicianship is superior. Steel Panther is one of those bands that has great musicians, funny lyrics and understands how to vibe with those that loved that genre. Satchel was in one of Halford’s bands and can really play. The singer Michael Starr was the vocalist leaving the booth when Marky Mark came in, in the movie Rock Star.

I've gone overall slightly heavier as well. 1977 - 1987 were my formative years tho so music from then gets played the most. If you like musicianship (I'm sure you already know these gents) but Rik Emmett from Triumph and Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme are in the running with EVH in that talent.

My current GF is 50 (I'm 60) and is as big of a rocker as I am. We have a blast. Even tho we have a huge overlap in taste, that 10 years matters a lot and she's more of a scream metal person. She does introduce me to a lot bands I would have never discovered. Short list there is, Pop Evil, Motionless in White, Black Label Society (love Zakk), and Pretty Reckless. Those are mild for her ..

Well, LAC now has a division in the southern hemisphere of the world!

It was a long day of travel as one of my bags is still in Houston but no big deal!

One of my best friends that lives down here with his wife and my Godchildren picked me up at the airport.

Even the drive-in from the airport is stunningly beautiful see the first pic below!

This place is more amazing than I thought. It would be beyond my wildest dreams.

And yes, the rumors are true. I’ve never seen so many good looking girls, concentrated in one metro area, my entire life.

The girl working the duty-free shop at the Medellin men airport. Could’ve walked off the cover of Vogue magazine.

It was really late so I went to a little restaurant that was open and my waitress a little young, at 19-20 was very pretty.

Just driving and walking around on the streets tonight and it’s a Sunday night. There are beautiful girls everywhere.

There are multiple casinos literally 100 yards down my street restaurants, office spaces, clubs, bars, lounges, coffee shops for as far as I want to walk

There is a reason they call this area “The Golden Mile”.

There is a WeWork three blocks from my house. I think I’m going to set up shop there so I can separate work from living if it’s reasonable, which I can’t imagine it’s not.

That’s all for now. I’ll give you guys updates throughout the week..

Edit - if you guys are single, and don’t come visit me down here and participate in this plethora of beautiful life in every way…

Then you guys are faggots 🤣

I've looked this up, but I'm just going to ask...how do you buy gold? I've read that you can buy bars or coins from dealers (might be better to buy bars because you're paying just for the value of the gold, not the value of the coin). Never done this before, just looking for opinions from LACers with experience.
My cousin sells it. That's where I got my bars from. Where you at. I could possibly ask them if the know anyone around your area.

SDbullion & JMbullion are both good online sources I’ve bought through for years. And yes, dollar per oz bars have lower premiums than coins.

If buying gold don’t buy the fractional as it’s going to be a much higher premium than oz purchases.

In silver, 10oz bars or 1oz rounds are decent premiums. Kilo bars even better.

I’ve quite a bit of sovereign silver but quit buying them as their premiums went too high this year. That’s American Eagles, Canadian Maples, Britannias etc. Premiums have come down lately but still high.

Been back into collectibles last 6 months buying better end silver dollars & halves & a few pre 33 gold pieces in online auctions. coins and auctions since 1994 is the broker I’ve been buying from lately. Had very good luck with them.

Got to be careful as there is a lot of fake stuff & cleaned collectibles out there.

Either get to know a dealer to buy from, use a reputable site like SD or JM, or if buying for collectibles get to know values & buy certified/slabbed coinage via NGC/PCGS. Hell, I pick up a lot of slabbed coins on eBay.

Now I do pick up junk pre65 from the local pawn shop to stack as well. But I don’t buy anything above halves as there’s just too many fake silver dollars running around out there.
