SXSW takes place in many of the bars in downtown Austin. Under Texas law, a person cannot legally carry a gun in an establishment that derives more than 50% of its revenue from alcohol sales. So if those guns were confiscated from people inside the bars, then they were illegally carried. If they were confiscated from people out walking in the streets, then they could have been legal. I don’t know the details of this specific event. Just thought I’d add some context.

Why is there overlap into states areas of Jurisdiction. Education, Healthcare, all the public land administered by the Federales but belonging to a State should just be turned over to the State. Start eliminating Departments that should never have existed anyway. Why should the Feds be involved in Agriculture, other than the International borders etc.

Oh the vote will still happen. Gotta keep up the illusion of choice.
