Weird thing I've noticed if ya search online for instructions on how to correctly take cuttings for clones to ensure greatest rooting potential, you'll get pages and pages of results with generally informative sites, but for some odd reason not a single one I've looked at actually provides clear instructions on exactly where & how to cut a clone properly.

Most sites just say to cut clones at a 45° angle—either without actually specifying precisely where to cut, or instead just say to cut somewhere along the stem above or below an auxiliary node—as if it doesn't really make much difference where ya cut, as long as it's 45°.

Of course, if ya do everything else right ya can get almost any cuttings to produce roots regardless of where they're cut, but in my experience any clones cut along the stem in between nodes, or directly above or below a node, either take at least 10+ days to produce any roots and if they do they're usually sporadic piddly little weaner roots, or they simply fail to produce roots at all.

For the best possible cloning results, what ya do is make the 45° cut through the middle of the nodes.

Not along the stem.

Not above or below a node.

Cut directly through a node.

By doing this (assuming ideal conditions) ensures the cuttings should begin rapidly producing a fuck tonne of gnarly roots within mere days at most, and can even be potted up within as few as 5-7 days.
