Never heard of it. I've worked out very hard at different times in my life, including HS and college athletics, triathalons, running, lifting, etc, and have never heard of anyone getting this.

Gotcha. I only heard of one case where several folks on the Iowa football team got it and it almost got the S & C coach fired, but he was fired later for other issues.

I read some articles saying it has become more common. However, I am wondering if those are just scare you clickbait. I don't want to mess up my kidneys.

Here is an article on what happened at Iowa.

I cheated like a MFer on Tuesday. I had the following at night:

Wow, that's crazy. I wonder if this is more common since covid, whether vaxxed or not? Have you heard of this happening at other schools?

Don't know. That would be an interesting question.

It is so dangerous. It can destroy your kidneys.

Actually 100 squats in 17 minutes is not THAT crazy. Especially at a lower weight.

There has to be more too it than that.

Hydration is key apparently.

I mean, 100 squats is a lot, but yeah, it doesn't seem like it would be so much that it will nearly kill you. There has to be more to the story. Did those players juice (roids)? Just seems odd to have that many of them on one team.

I think if you tested Iowa football players fairly and honestly, most of them would pop hot for the roids.

They are a team that depends on power in the S&C program.

I mean just look at their former S&C coach.

Oh shit, you are on to something. I didn't even think about that. I guess my just eating a grilled chicken salad for lunch and then going to work out is that not that big of a deal.

"Anabolic steroids can contribute to rhabdomyolysis through their effects on the skeletal muscle but also themselves have been shown to be directly toxic to the glomeruli."

For it to be that widespread (11 players), you'd think it has to be something like that. A bunch of the dudes roided up prior to working out and then had this crazy reaction.

Question: Has anyone ever come close to rhabdomyolysis?

I hear that is a danger with the Cross Fitters. I am not a Cross Fitter.

If you are just doing your standard 1 hour lifting weights it should not be a danger, right?
I’ve done CrossFit for years in my garage and never had an issue.

I do know it happened to my dad some number of years back when he was doing p90x and started on statins. Messed him up pretty good for a while, but he recovered fine

Really? Wow. I don't know how I've never even heard of it before.

Lost 10 lbs in past 2 weeks.

I kicked it up a notch.

I am doing 23 hour fast each day. One meal per day.

That meal is: salad with a lot of chicken, cheese, hearts of romaine, a lot of olive oil, Galic and Basil Vinegrette. I make sure that salad has a lot of fat. I also drink one coffee with heavy cream and olive oil at lunch.

Outside of lunch, I only drink diet drinks, black coffee, and water. I will have a dill pickle which is 0 calories and carbs if I feel like I am dying.

My son started working out with me a month ago so my discipline has been killer. We do the following training cycle:

Day 1 - Chest and Shoulders
Day 2 - Core (This day sucks.)
Day 3 - Back and Biceps
Day 4 - Legs
Day 5 - Cardio for 1 hour
Repeat.

We do this 7 days a week. No days off. You get tired or too sore. Guess what? Take a cardio only day. Results in the mirror have been better than the scale.

I am considering adding apple cider vinegar. Has anyone had good success with it?

If so, what benefits did you notice?
I tried apple cider vinegar and the benefits I noticed was heartburn at night

I have been on a streak of 20 days of no cheating on keto. I am losing like 1.5 lbs a day.

I added cocunut oil for my coffee and trying to get in as much fat as I can.

My strength in the gym has not dropped yet, but I expect it will.

I read that if you can get to 4:1 (fat calories versus protein and carbs) that it really helps you mentally.

I am going to try to get to that, but damn it is so hard to get that much fat.

I rely on bulletproof coffee with cocunut oil and peperoni and olive oil on my salad for the fat. I still have chicken on the salad.

Just got to keep discipline and keep grinding out at bats.
14 days straight for me. Mix (a ton) of heavy cream into a protein shake is one of my tricks

I feel like it does, and since I knew I wasn't going to be eating, it took my focus off of food. There was no thinking about my next meal, or what I wanted to snack on. Just thinking about whatever is currently in front of me.

I'm planning on doing a 36 hour fast once a week, and may periodically stretch that even further.
You supplementing somehow with electrolytes?

I fell of the wagon two days this week. However, I am right back on it.

Sometimes when my mind gives in and I agree to cheat, I decide to cheat like a mutha.

I even sunk so low as to have french fries. I went that far into the gutter. They had a lot of salt and caused me to retain more water giving a shocking number on the scale for just 2 days of cheating.

No more.

Yeah, it's crazy how much water weight you can gain in a short amount of time.

How’s everyone holding up. I’m down 10-15 lbs. I’ve been doing OMAD a lot lately just cause it’s so easy. I kind of have two meals, but I basically eat dinner, then a couple hours later eat dinner again lol

Yep. Day 1 was chills and body aches. Day 2 was fever. Days 3 and 4 were sore throat and congestion. Sore throat and congestion are still barely lingering but feel fine.
For me it did seem a bit tougher to bounce back compared to other stuff

Even though I didn’t have a cough I was short of breath for a while in the gym

Makes sense. I've taken some walks these past couple days. I can tell my cardio isn't quite normal. I plan on easing myself back into the gym.
