Do what I did. Got an GI ailment in January and have lost 45 pounds since. Had to drink Pedialyte to regain my electrolytes before knee surgery. Now down 65 pounds in the last 18 months. It wasn't that bad except I knew I had to eat but nothing looked appetizing. For months I only ate 1/3 of any meal. Back to normal now but still limit my intake. I like the new closet of clothes I can wear. Have a bunch of exercise equipment that gathered dust over the years. Starting to use it again.

Nothing for me today. Been on a cheat the last two days out of town. Back at it tomorrow and we’ll see how the bounce back is

I ate barbeque (with brown sugar sauce!!!) yesterday and cheated some. I even had a little desert. Major no no.

I had to punish myself and sweat that out today.

I did 1:30 hours of chest and 30 mins of running to make sure I remember to not do that again.

I told myself that I was just going to stick to hamburgers without the buns but I did the grilling. After all that grilling, I was ravenous for the ribs and more that a quota of the barbeque ribs.

Then once you are into to gateway drug of sweet barbeque sauce, you might as well say screw it and have desert....and then you are officially off the wagon.

I feel confident I will be back on tomorrow. Main thing I’ve realized is I haven’t really felt like I’m missing out on anything. Been good, will have some cookies tonight, and back to work tomorrow

1.5 hrs of chest? Is that even possible?

Yes, I am weird. I do sets on every level of the inclined bench plus some flies. I do 6 levels of incline including flat. Four sets of 10 per level. So it is a lot of volume, plus the flies at the end.

I heard Arnold say that he would just attack his muscles by slightly changing the angle you attack them at. I thought that was a good strategy.

I have to drop the weight near the end, but I have gained strength with this volume training.

Back on the wagon. Keto breakfast lunch and dinner today. Got a workout in.

Number on the scale is about between 15-20 pounds down from when I started a little over a month ago.

Felt real strong today but it coulda been all the stored up glycogen

Tell me I am not imagining this. In the past 5 years, women's outfits in the gym have been getting skimpier and skimpier.

A lot of the chicks I see in the gym are basically wearing a sports bra and and spandex like shorts that literally go up their ass crack.

Also, every one of these chicks does hip thrusts on the smith machine.

Just started Keto again last week. I'm a little older than most of you youngins'. I do Keto to get rid of the bloat from too many or poor quality carbs.
I travel allot so it's a challenge sometimes to get my meals right. My workouts are more about maintenance and not gains.
As an olde living in Fl., playing pickleball is the latest thing. Just trying to stay healthy enough to take out a few "blue hairs".

I have had great success. Keto is very maintainable in the short to midterm. I recognize, at least for myself, that I am not going to maintain it for a lifetime, but it sure as hell does a good job for shedding some pounds once you hit that threshold of clothes getting really tight. I'm down about 20 lbs right now.

You may want to consider it for longterm.

There is some research out that shows that it has some brain protecting effects.

This is true of fasting also.

My issue with Keto is it jacks my cholesterol bad. So I usually just will do it a couple of times a year for about 30 days or so.

I understand the consideration, but just being honest with myself you know. I would like to be able to do it long term, but just gonna worry about one day at time.

There really are a ton of benefits and its pretty easy to do once you get going though.

I think I'm probably going to do some kind of cyclical keto, but just going to keep it simple for now.

One of the things I like most is how I can just go as long as I want without eating and I don't ever get hangry. Kind of mind blowing

I don't have the cholesterol issue, but I do have BP issues. Keto hasn't impacted that though

I am not kidding at all. I had a dream this weekend about eating some cookies. I am not joking at all.

Ha! So I mentioned how I had a cheat day on the 4th last weekend, and then my kids birthday was last Thursday and I had some cookie cake (a generous portion ha), but otherwise I have been strict for over a month.

We are going to Orlando at the end of the month and I plan on eating mostly whatever. I do plan on making a couple smart decisions to keep it contained as possible

Not the way to do it playa. Not the way at all.

Also, sounds like CTE:

"Barber had fallen on hard times since retiring from football in 2012.

He has been hospitalized twice for mental health evaluations, the Star-Tribune reported, and in 2019, he was arrested on two misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief for damaging multiple cars while running.

A witness said at the time that Barber charged toward their vehicle, causing large dents to the side of their cars.

Barber pleaded no contest to close out the case in April, TMZ reports.

Last year, former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant tweeted that he could no longer enjoy watching old highlights of Barber 'because he's down and out bad."

Just finished my 2nd bout with covid. I had one rough day where I had a decent fever and was exhausted for about 1/2 the day. I assume that fever was from when my immune system recognized the virus and started attacking it hard. After that, it was mostly like a head cold. It did affect my appetite, so I lost about 5 pounds along the way. Didn't do too much working out during that time, as I thought it better to let my body fight it off, but ready to get back at a slightly lower weight!

Got a high five from my Doc at my appointment on Monday. All my blood work looked great.

I was worried that I was going to have high cholesterol and LDL since I have been drinking about two bulletpoof coffees a day with butter and heavy cream and being liberal with the sour cream on my salads. However, cholesterol, LDL were all in the guidelines.

I have adjusted my routine to add in more cardio as follows: Chest/Shoulders Day, Cardio Day, Back/Arms Day, Cardio Day, Legs/Core Day, Cardio Day, repeat. No days off. Cardio day is your rest day.

Scale has not moved as much as I want , but got to keep grinding!

Dudes,

I usually drink a Bang cola prior to lifts which has a small amount of creatine (very small compared to supplements).

Yesterday, I forgot my Bang cola before my back and arms workout. So I had no caffeine or creatine.

As a result, I sucked bad at the workout. I was completely wore out and did not do as much as I usually do.

I can't believe that small amount of creatine and caffeine would make that much difference.

Interesting. Agreed that it doesn't seem like it would be a major difference maker. Have to try it again sometime to see if you get the same results.

I had an ingrown toe nail removed today and thought I'd be fine to go to the gym tonight. Nope, I'm a pussy.

Your mind is a powerful thing so you could have psyched yourself out a little bit too by not having any. Nocebo would be the correct term. You always have it before your workout and now you didn't have it so you may have subconsciously thought it was going to be a bad workout because of that.

I can't do Bangs, way too much caffeine.

All that being said, you still went through the workout which is a win.

Anybody do raw eggs? I am considering adding to bulletproof coffee, only considering.

I read it is safer with pasteurized eggs.

I think part of the reason I want to try it is that I loved the movie Rocky as a kid. I wanted to try raw eggs like Rocky does in that famous scene. My Mom said hell no to that request.

Sounds gross but you do you. I don’t think there’s any special benefit to the eggs being raw and obviously the risk is higher eating uncooked eggs.

I want to try 1st Phorms new energy drink, they're not terribly priced. Most of their stuff is expensive AF. I'm sure it's good quality for $30/lb protein powder is pretty high.
Yes it is. I don’t take the pre and post recommended amount. I mix once and drink half before and the other half after. It lasts about 6-8 weeks.

We have a 14 month old that is just starting to sleep through the night on some nights. I slept from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am last night, woke up on my own without an alarm or child waking me and I feel like a new man. I forgot what getting a good night of sleep feels like.

Got a deadlift workout in after that.
