• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

**Resolution in Support of Duke's Mayonnaise and Its North Carolina Heritage**

**WHEREAS**, Duke's Mayonnaise, a beloved condiment with roots deeply embedded in North Carolina, has been a symbol of Southern culinary tradition for generations; and

**WHEREAS**, the unique taste and quality of Duke's Mayonnaise are cherished by Southerners and food enthusiasts nationwide, contributing significantly to the cultural and economic fabric of North Carolina; and

**WHEREAS**, the potential sale or transfer of Duke's Mayonnaise to entities or individuals from the Northern United States, colloquially known as "Yankees," could result in changes to its traditional recipe, manufacturing process, or brand identity, thereby eroding a piece of Southern heritage; and

**WHEREAS**, such a transfer could be seen not only as a loss of culinary tradition but also as a threat to the economic stability and cultural identity of the communities that have supported Duke's for decades;

**THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED**, that we, the undersigned, firmly oppose any sale or transfer of Duke's Mayonnaise to individuals, groups, or companies from the Northern United States or any entity considered a "Yankee" in cultural terms;

**BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED**, that we formally request the incoming President of the United States to recognize the potential sale of Duke's Mayonnaise to out-of-state, particularly Northern, interests as a matter of national security concern, given its significance to Southern identity and local economy;

**BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED**, that action be taken to ensure Duke's Mayonnaise remains under Southern ownership, made in North Carolina, preserving its traditional recipe and cultural significance;

**BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED**, that copies of this resolution be sent to the Governor of North Carolina, the state's Congressional delegation, and the leadership of the incoming administration to underscore the urgency and importance of this issue.

**ADOPTED**, this 6th day of January, 2025.

I support them but only use mayonnaise made with olive oil.

So what’s next. Everyone will stare at the problem, till the next problem comes around to stare at
Unfortunately, our governor is a huge pussy and so is our AG. Plus the AG has already announced he’s running for governor. If they would at least give it to PAC (prosecuting attorneys council) something might actually be done. Not holding my breath.

UK is lost. Know a lot of what I thought were really good men from Britain, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, where are they now?
Was in Zurich in 23. Was talking with UK woman on a tour, she was very nice (and attractive) and mentioned how much she loved London. I asked about the immigration issue and she said it was only in certain places. I asked how many new places are added each year and she went quiet. Eventually admitted it was getting worse.
