• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Pro-tip from a northern pool owner.

Buy caps for your jets and keep about 5 jugs of anti-freeze on hand in case this would happen again.

We leave pools (mostly)full through the winter up here. You just have to drop the water level below your jet level and fill your plumbing with anti-freeze.
Blow them out backwards in the spring. Need a compressor connector adapter for the jet nozzles.

Cube steak, or top round if you are getting fancy with it, fried and then cooked in gravy & served over rice was a favorite of mine. Still is, actually.

Mmmmm, country-style steak.

Me too, learned how to cook in from my Grandma in MS. I like to use mushrooms in mine . Good ole southern cooking. My wife said her Grandfather would have his t-bone beaten with a coke bottle then floured and fried, she said it was awesome. I’m having strips, rare, med rare tonight, no ketchup.

From our congressman Jeff Duncan

President Biden asked, when discussing this huge Pelosi Payoff to Progressives Act - a bill being rammed through Congress in a purely partisan fashion: “What would they (Republicans) have me cut? What would they have me leave out?”

Folks - only 9% of this bill is Covid-19 health spending. 91% of this bill is spending on things like:
- union Pensions ($86 Billion)
- Blue state bailouts ($350 Billion)
- Planned Parenthood - Universities - National Endowment for the Arts ($135 million)
- Chuck Schumer’s bridge in NY
- Nancy Pelosi’s tunnel in Silicon Valley

There is over $1 Trillion in unspent money in previously passed Covid-related bills. Money for schools is not tied to reopening and 95% won’t be spent until 2022!

Let me say again: Only 9% of this massive spending plan, under the guise of doing something about the pandemic, goes to crushing the Covid-19 virus and putting vaccines in peoples’ arms. So - to answer President Biden: The 91% Pork-barrel spending is a good place to start!
Can I get the source for this

Edit: reason I ask is because stimulus is going to equal $422B of the package which is 22% itself. So the 9% claim is garbage unless he is referring to something else.

This bullshit only adds up to 9%. Basically I ran with the post earlier about 9% for relief 91% for shit and now I look stupid(my fault for not doing my own research but I jumped the gun). The numbers by % aren't even close to what the SC congressman is saying. $422B towards stimulus, $7B for PPP, whatever it is to extend the unemployment benefit plus increase it from $300/wk to $400, billions towards helping States distribute the vaccine, more billions towards other vaccine related items (which of course we know is shit but the public won't see that). Basically the pork is not 91% like was mentioned earlier.

Cool but his math doesn't make sense though cause if $422B is for stim payments and roughly $160B for unemployment benefit and $7B for PPP of the bill equals 31% right there.
I'm pretty sure Jeff wouldn't have put wrong information out their so I'd trust him. He's pretty straight guy.
