I was supposed to go to a funeral Friday in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. Flight costs were over $800 roundtrip with flights each way being up to 7 hours in length due to changing planes. Non-stop was higher for a 1.25 hr flight. Hotel, car rental, meals, gas and all else put it into the $1200 range. Would not have gotten home until 1-2 AM Saturday, if no delays or cancellations. Temps in the RGV are supposed to be 101-105.
