One of my best friends and neighbor adopted ML Carr when he was a young boy when he lived in NC.

I have played golf with ML and talked to him on occasion at our clubhouse about his playing and coaching days in the NBA.

When I asked him who the best player he had ever played with or against he quickly told me that, by far, it was Larry Bird.

Dude was a monster and his trash talk was crazy. He’d tell defenders what he was gonna do and shoot it in their face. How many players can call their shots and do it like that?

I remember watching the hall of fame induction when Magic was speaking. He said the ball was thrown to Bird and he had no one around him.

Magic started running and Bird said “I don’t know why you’re running out here. I’m gonna shoot it in your face.” Boom. Magic said “who does that during a game?”
