Tale of why our government is being run by idiots.
When I had my knee replacement paid for by the VA through the Community Care Network using outside MDs and hospitals, I had to pay $150 out of pocket for prescriptions which should have been paid for by the VA.
I submitted a claim which was denied. Here's what they said...
"Co-payment reimbursement is not allowed. The VA may only reimburse Veterans for out-of-pocket expenses in full, that were not partially paid by another payer."
The pharmacy voluntarily reduced the costs using discounts they had in their system.
In other words, the VA would have paid the entire $500+ costs of the meds but will not pay the $150 cost I paid since the pharmacy on their own applied several discounts. Pure idiocy.
