Replying to myself. Read that book in its entirety and discussed it in detail in 10th grade English, NY State education system (circa 1978). Teacher was seriously into it and saw it coming but we were like, "no way this could happen here".

It is. Right before our eyes. Even smart people and good friends are sucked up into the Covid religion. January 6th religion. Anti-Vaxx are the whole reason religion. Vax mandates and mask mandates are OK with them because of the "common good".

They are great Americans otherwise. Think I'm silly and reckless to bring up slippery slope. Trust the CDC, NIH, Admin. "My dad's friend is a scientist and Prof for Vandy and he would NEVER lead us astray".

It's sad and disturbing at the same time.

I hope I'm old enough to not have to actually be in the situation where it's brother on brother like in CW1.

My kids and certain grandkids win over these people.

Even tho I love these people. Seemingly unimaginable towards fellow citizens or even a thing 2.5 years ago is now a thing in everyone's mind.

It was getting uglier by the week during Covid. Now it seems uglier by the day to hour.

Basically I'm fucked.

You allergic? I almost died when was 9. Hit a yellow jacket nest mowing the lawn. ER Dr said 5 more minutes I was a goner. Tested at Cleveland Clinic and 4 years of a weekly vaccine. Carry Epi with me all the time.

Not allergic although the next sting could be the one that tosses me over the edge. I've been stung/bitten enough that they all give a different reaction. Honeybees are the worst. Finger feels good this AM but going to sleep in the afternoon doesn't provide an all night slumber.

By the way, I agree with @ETNVol (not sure why the tag isn't working) on his perspective. If everyone would realize he is right, and then persuade those around them to see that only We the People acting in concert in standing up to the threat we face can prevent a violent or tragic end.

I know it’s me who is probably misguided but how can we can continue to call these people that support the left “great Americans”? At this point if you still believe and support the left I have trouble to calling you a great American. They are destroying this country by supporting the left. This also means they support abortion, lawlessness, open borders, and gender illusions. You aren’t going to love them or guide them into thinking rationally it reality. It’s a fools errand. Again, it’s something I struggle with. I didn’t have many liberal friends before but I’m to the point to where I don’t really interact with those who support the left ideology. I can barely stomach them and way past the “we see things differently but can still be friends”. How do you personally reconcile this?

Several of the individuals who work for me are praying for another lockdown. I believe it’s for no other reason that they want to be paid not to work. They are the same ones who look for any reason to lay out of work or leave early. I consider them weak mentally - not able to push through.

We have a quarterly bonus program that significantly weighs attendance & timeliness - it has not changed things a bit. Most of these guys just want to get through today - then when bonus time comes they cry & whine wanting the past 3 months erased.

What I’m getting at is this segment is becoming such a large part of our society - those of us taught hard work and saving what you can - are all being sucked down. It grinds my gears.

When I was teenager my father impressed upon me the importance of freedom and had me watch the movie 1984. There are certain times a man remembers from his childhood that affect him in subtle, but powerful ways. That experience was one of those times. I pray God blesses all of you, but more importantly that He gives us the strength to stand up for freedom.
