There was a lot of “misinformation” in there but also AirBNB fucked us over a few weeks before by cancelling our original place. So we kind of had to pull things out of our ass last minute.

But we learned a lot about how to do this next time. We are gonna look at booking a block of rooms at some casino/golf resort for a couple days next time and let everyone handle booking their individual rooms out of that block.

I had a great time meeting and hanging out with everybody! Really wish I could have stuck around longer and met everyone but I just had to get back. Hopefully things work out for me schedule wise the next time something like this goes down.

16-20 of my fraternity brothers have been doing this for 29 years. We go to golf resorts, reserve a block of rooms and each person books theirs individually. One person coordinates with the resort and then sends a mass email with the details. With that many they usually toss in a complementary conference room for those wanting to play poker.

But I will say that @Chris Farley knocked it out of the park setting things up for us. The location and the amenities surrounding it were excellent for a first gathering.

There was a hole in the wall Italian joint for food and a saloon literally across the street from us. Plus there was a package liquor store within an 8min walk of the place. Seriously, what else did we need?

I love pizza and I absolutely love hole-in-the-wall local joints. The house was across the street from two of them so it was awesome for me, but I get what you’re saying from a cost to expectation point.
