So, today I got a "Breaking news" notification talking about how NC is about to have a bunch of special forces training across 24 counties the next month or so. It talked about the number of special forces trainees, other agencies and civilians that would be used along with other things. Got me wondering about how many of these, tragic events, are actually just these training exercises?
This has to be ripe for a lawsuit. Doesn’t it?

Ship was apparently headed to Rotterdam (Dutch)...look at this story from last year

For those of you that need some Friday inspiration, I want you to think about what president Biden said yesterday:
“The best way to get something done if you, if you hold it near and dear to you, that you, uh, um like to be able to uhhhhh....anyway....”
Rise and grind, gents.
Caught that driving back to work after lunch yesterday, just had to laugh, like wtf, our country is being driven like that ship in the Suez, we’re fucked and losing billions a dayFor those of you that need some Friday inspiration, I want you to think about what president Biden said yesterday:

I was hoping the crazy bitch doing the screaming was gonna get a whole can of pepper spray.I've seen this time and time again with some groups of our society that after being told multiple times not to do something they seem surprised that a LEO will act on their threats to remove and or arrest them from a place or situation. It seems as if some groups feel laws should not apply to them or they should be free from consequence. Baffling.
Love baseball and played in College. Ive coached at all levels (not Pro). Over Usage of an arm is the main issue. Curve balls being thrown multiple ways (all can be correct) are by far the largest issue. My son is 10 and just started pitching. He throws a Fast ball 2, 4, and 1 seam fastballs. And a nasty change up. He can and will learn a Curve ball as a highschooler. If you are having your kid throw curve balls as a youth shame on you. If your having your Kid over throw as a youth shame on you. Absolute zero sense saying youve seen more kids have arm trouble throwing fast balls. Curve balls are dangerous period until a developed age. Love baseball with you brother. Just completely disagree with what you said regarding ThrowingHere’s the truth...kids have been throwing curveballs since... forever. Watch what they’re doing when they’re unsupervised...I know that I surely was doing it in the 70’s. My theory with my own son was that if you’re going to throw it, learn to throw it right and don’t over throw it. He pitched all the way through high school and had several small college offers. He chose an academic scholarship at Purdue. He started learning the curve when he was 9...under my supervision. He had a really good one. It never hurt his arm...over using the fastball caused more wear and tear than the curve. In all honesty, in 30+ years of coaching, I’ve seen more injuries from throwing the fastball incorrectly than the I’ve ever seen from the deuce. I can immediately tell by the spin on the ball...I’ve had to fix so many older kids because they were never taught to throw properly in Little League. That slider spin on a fastball is a killer. Here’s a pic of my son in High School.View attachment 12348
Agree. Bands, Bands, and more bands. Actually not to much like anything else. Push ups too. Over usage is a thing so keep and eye on it.This....cousin was in the minors for 8 years. Now gives lessons to kids. A 11 year old told him he has four pitches. Cousin said if you want to work with me you have two. Fast ball, and a change up.
My 14 year old son is a very good catcher and is experiencing arm issues( right now it is shoulder tightness) Growing, muscles, over use as a 12 year old, have all contributed to us limiting what he can do. Its frustrating for him and us, because he likes to competes and we feel bad for him.
There is so much about these idiotic requirements which defy logic. It's like a bunch of morons imposed them. Well, one did, Dr. Fauci.
Arm care is huge and it is widely more prevalent in HS now then ever before.Overthrowing these kids is definitely an issue. Especially with the money grab that is select ball now and kids playing one sport. I played them all growing up until I needed to focus on one. Even then I didn’t throw year round. I wouldn’t pick up a ball for 2-3 months in the offseason. Just strictly workout. Off-season workouts in pro ball I would train from 7-3. First hour was pre arm care which was tedious shoulder, back, scap exercises. Post arm care would take about 30-45 minutes. You don’t see younger kids doing that or even HS kids. (Maybe now cause it has changed so much from when I played) but the arm care stuff is what keeps you healthy and able to throw that many innings.
The TJ on purpose is still one of the dumbest things I have heard. Blows my mind that people think that’s a good idea.
More like Mumbles from Dick Tracy. He's the second coming of Knute Rockne I tell ya!
Well, this is fun. Our trampoline is currently 2 houses down and about 30 feet up in a tree. I had that thing staked down. And when I say staked down, I mean staked down. (We already had to retrieve it once). Got just enough rain on top of moist soil to rip those bolts right out of the ground.
Transformers blowing up in the distance. So far, we have power (we've never lost it at this house. Tonight will be the test, I guess)
We're expecting damage and mass power outages tonight. All from wind.
If the trampoline is the big loss.... I'm good. And I'm out of here by noon tomorrow for the next week.
Edit: to make it clear, we will have the trampoline recovered and removed. And I'm not putting it back in our yard. The thing is dead to me.
That cat has seen some shit
I love him... and I'm not a cat person.
Holy shit those are handsome pupsView attachment 12405
Sam and Gus!
i have a 9YO that has played rec ball and was asked to join a travel team due to his pitching. The rec team has used him a fair amount as a starter because he's a machine at throwing strikes. When you guys are saying "overthowing", what would you say is too much for a kid his age? All he's doing at this point is throwing fastballs.Love baseball and played in College. For some reason I've always had skittish wary cats come to me and let me scratch them. The look on homeowner's faces is funny. Same with dogs.Thank you!!! He is a beast. Rescued him from the Humane Society 5 yrs ago. Franco loves his family, but strangers get a warning when they enter. You will be hissed at. You may need a band aid if you push your luck.
He full name is “His Holiness Francisco....” in honor of what we thought was a great Pope. So, now we just stick with Franco
At that age, no more than what he would be allowed to thrown in Little League or appropriate league for his age. As I said previously, my nephew was used as a pitcher in all 5 games in a weekend. That's too much. Hell, it's too much to even play that many games in 2 days especially in the Texas summer heat.i have a 9YO that has played rec ball and was asked to join a travel team due to his pitching. The trampoline exploded (springs everywhere) and is wrapped AROUND the tree. Have no idea how we're going to get it down. Our tree guy said he'll figure it out. God bless that man.Hope y'all stayed safe.
We just completed repairs from snowmageddon. Irrigation, pool and plumbing totaling a little more than $2,000. Happy to have that in the rearview.
If it makes you feel better, if my boy needs attention when I’m working on the laptop, I usually get a little nimble on my hand while he parks his Fanny on my keyboard. For some reason I've always had skittish wary cats come to me and let me scratch them. I had one, Charles X.Y.Z. Whinnybox, who came running from wherever she was to climb on my side and stick her head in my ear and purr loudly when I laid down on my couch. If it makes you feel better, if my boy needs attention when I’m working on the laptop, I usually get a little nimble on my hand while he parks his Fanny on my keyboard.
