A 13-year-old boy in Romania volunteered to be lowered deep into a pipe to pull out another boy, just three years old, who fell inside and got stuck.

In addition to the well-known details of the rescue, there are several lesser-known aspects that add depth to this remarkable story. Firstly, the 13-year-old boy, Cristian Marian Becheanu, was not initially part of the rescue team. He happened to be passing by the scene when he noticed the commotion and volunteered to help. His quick thinking and bravery were pivotal in the successful rescue of the toddler

Another interesting detail is the condition of the toddler when he was finally pulled out. The three-year-old boy was suffering from hypothermia due to the cold and damp conditions inside the pipe. Immediate medical attention was crucial in stabilizing his condition, and he was quickly transported to a nearby hospital where he made a full recovery

Lastly, the rescue operation itself was a community effort. Residents of Segarcea, a small town in Romania, came together to assist in any way they could. From providing ropes and tools to offering moral support, the entire town played a role in the rescue. This collective effort highlights the strong sense of community and solidarity among the residents

Was going to say this. @MortgageHorn must be flying in a helicopter to make it to downtown Austin from Horseshoe Bay in an hour. Lake LBJ is the best lake in the Highland Lakes Chain, though.

Ok Papa drivers - 55 is just the suggested speed.

But if you want to be closer I like Steiner Ranch.

Of course depending on your budget you could go Westlake Hills or Tarrytown.
