Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

First I have ever heard of Trump being "poor".

After the snow melt, single digit temps for 2 days and freezing temps for 5 more days, today I saw dandelions in bloom and the daffodils which were beaten to the ground are now popping up and in bloom. I guess it's yard spraying later today.
And the Robins are out in force plucking up bugs, worms and seeds. Looks like a red line crossing my yard shoulder to shoulder hopping and pecking.

Hahaha, not what I said, or what Pool said. Regardless of being born rich, and being among the richest people in America, Trump does somehow seem to have a special ability to relate to working class Americans.

Turned into a game of "whack a mole". I truly believe Trump thought (as I did early on) that once top tier was removed there would be movement in the ranks of more honest brokers. What we found was a complete entrenchment of politically motivated bureaucrats throughout the FBI/DOJ.
Hell, throughout the entire system. Remember the anonymous letters from within the NSC that told us they were actively working against the administration? Emails, texts, social media posts uncovered of people within various government agencies all openly working against the administration? Hell, John Kerry openly went around the globe in shadow diplomacy working against the administration.
What I'm staggered by is his mere survival of his term much less any accomplishments. The administration had to deal with an never ending entrenchment throughout government, within it's' own administration, within FBI/DOJ/CIA, an entire media complex dedicated to 24/7 attacks & disinformation.
As I've said many times, Trump couldn't find enough good guys in 4 years and obviously needed another term to try and accomplish a final flush.
The corruption in this country is 3rd world level.
And members of the GOP party actively working against him as well as the Speaker of the House (Ryan) and Senate leadership actively working against him on any reform.
The swamp runs so deep and wide it's gonna take more than 47.
We're gonna have to have a complete take over and demo of the old guard.
I like Ivanka or Desantis at 48 to keep the fisting elbow deep.

Maybe instead of removing flags and monuments, everyone should focus on removing the living monuments who have Inhabited and infected DC for a half century...
They have built their empire to the point the deep state is no longer hidden, but exposed in the open.
This is not an easy fix, this is not an overnight fix, this is not a struggle that will EVER go away.
Our republic has been under attack since the Day our independence was declared.
Do you think the power structure with its unlimited resources was just gonna hand over their absolute power and all the resources that come with our land?
There will always be people unhappy with their government, there will always be people unhappy with their lives, and there will always be people who seek power over others.
Our job as citizens of the free world, is to make sure we give power to only those who don’t wish to abuse it, keep it, or unfairly enrich themselves or their families from it. We have fallen short in this area, thanks to a weaponized media.
This fight for freedom will never end and we can’t allow it! Our children’s children’s children’s children must know that vigilance is the only thing that will keep this monster at bay.

Those "bombs" could not possibly look more like "bombs". Metal pipe. Giant timer. barely hidden. Surprised they didnt have a digital clock counting down
In my neighborhood in far north Dallas, once people completely lost power the 2-3 days, pools iced over very quickly and with the pumps not running the pipes began to freeze and crack. Even the people who had power and were smart enough to run their pumps 24-7 had to work to keep the pools from icing over! Obviously once it iced completely over pumps would seize up!
Texas pools aren’t engineered to withstand this kind of cold and if you didn’t work to keep it from freezing over, you were going to have issues. My buddy had piles of 2-3” thick ice sheets that he broke up and scooped out all over his pools edge that were 3 to 4’ tall. It was amazing how much I’ve formed daily.
