That has happened with science, academics, tech, finance, political etc… since the dawn of time.

A wise man once said to me, politics is downstream from culture, which is downstream from worldview. If you want to understand anything in culture, let alone politics, you have to understand the fundamental worldview of the people involved, otherwise it is like trying to decipher a code in a language you don’t understand.
