For those looking to convince their hard-headed friends and neighbors to come over to our side, here are some strategies I plan to employ:
  • Give the new administration the chance that the other side never gave Trump.
  • Highlight anything positive the new administration accomplishes or does, and if they don’t have positive accomplishments highlight their positive intentions.
  • Empathize with the motives and intentions of the other side while pointing out common ground in desired outcomes.
  • Stick as much as possible to provable facts, data, and outcomes in conversation, with plenty of common sense mixed in.
  • Look to highlight inconsistencies between beliefs, policies, and outcomes, but never in a way that puts the other person on the defensive.
  • Keep emotion out of the discussion except when using it logically to support an argument.
  • Acknowledge things I’ve been wrong about.
  • Call out Republican sins of the past.
  • Call out the sins of Trump.
  • Never, ever become what I don’t like about them.
Anyone else have any strategies? If so, please recommend.

I see a few people have chimed in on what I wrote here. Thank you all for your input.

For those that disagree with me, I get it. I have been wildly mistreated over the past few years as I'm sure a few others have. I would hardly call it a sacrifice. My great-great grandfather marched with Sherman - I doubt he'd call it that either.

I know there are many here who still hold out hope on The Plan. From my perspective, if we don't act like we are losing big, we will be in deep shit it if turns out we are. We cannot and should not count on any plans.

The only way this situation changes peacefully is if the other side sees the light, and steps in to defend us and the country. We can never win in a country that stays divided. To me that means sacrificing short term emotional satisfaction for a shot at the best long term gain possible. It means being the reasoned, level headed patriots that we are demanding they be.

One more thing that I didn't mention in my initial post - I'm also thinking of big ideas I can present that will facilitate the common ground I seek. I'm probably more left-leaning policy wise than most here, but here is an example:

- I am pro growth in government responsibility and control over our lives, but will never support an inch of said growth until the government shows that it's capable of what it's charged with now, capable of being trusted to work in our best interests, and capable of maintaining a sensible budget. We need them to be accountable for their actions, and we would be crazy to increase the scope of the government without demanding they are. -

Can anyone explain all the que posts saying “you are watching a movie”? It occurred to me this morning with the mirror posts and I now wonder what the movie stuff was really about. Any ideas out there?
The theory is that basically this was all planned out by Trump and the military in advance to humiliate the corrupt, break up the CIA and create a landing so that there is not too much chaos. If this is the case, then we are currently under military control and the insurrection act is in effect, and a bunch of people are playing their roles. It's so mind-blowingly far-fetched, that it's nearly impossible to believe. Yet comments from Pelosi's SS agent "Don't say a word," the fact that the Capitol is behind a wired fence, gov't around the world are quitting, and some of the info still being shared by anons give a tiny sliver of hope. Why all the build up, why all the q proofs, why all the people putting their reputations on the line, if there isn't a payoff?

I'll keep following for a few more weeks but after that my focus will be elsewhere. I just want to see Comey, Brennan, Clinton and Biden arrested, and would love to see Antifa, BLM and the CDC/NIH exposed for all their corruption. That's actually all I ever wanted. I knew Trump would carry through on all his other promises, and he did. Just drain the fucking swamp.

Couple of things.

did I just understand what you typed correctly. You are in favor of the government controlling our lives? And you think general Sherman was heroic or even a good man

The Civil War was another war fought over greed and money. Brother versus brother. Horrible

My great grandfather fought for the state of Georgia in the Civil War after he resigned from West Point.
I also had relatives from the state of New York that fought for the union in the Civil War. Both sides agreed that what Sherman did was atrocious
everybody from Robert E Lee to Ulysses Grant Abraham Lincoln

General Sherman was a fvcking piece of shit

i’m assuming you are from the north if your ancestors supposedly marched with Sherman which actually meant burning raping and pillaging towns in the state of Georgia from Atlanta to savannah . Burning towns to the ground and leaving women and children starving
That bastard should have been hung.
His troops actually destroyed a town that my family was living in with only women and children in it. You say that name down here you’re probably going to get your ass kicked even today

Nothing heroic about what that bastard did

any thoughts on this @TheRealJohnCooper My fellow Georgian

Glen Beck interview with Whitlock is a good listen but he said that he heard an interview with John Kerry where Kerry stated that "people will be shocked how fast Biden acts".... going for the great reset.

If lurch is already defending Biden on the reset then they may do that this spring. This may actually be why they are seemingly intentionally destroying our economy. It does seem obviously intentional at this point.

Sherman burned Georgia to the ground, leaving the town of Madison alone, because he had a mistress there. He is no hero in my book.

That's why we voted for him. I wasn't that greedy, I just wanted the clinton's to go down.

I play raquetball with a group of guys that includes several municipal police officers and they told us Friday morning that one of the detectives has been assigned to a "task force" on domestic extremist and an FBI agent came to the station and trained the detective who is now tracking internet traffic etc. There is going to be at least 1 member in every local law enforcement agency appointed to this task force. TIFWIW
