@Dawg88

Were you speaking of Roswell Mill in your post about Sherman?

I think Sherman is a great example to learn from on many angles. He is highly romanticized and even Joseph Johnston thought so highly of him that he refused to wear a hat, in freezing temperatures, to his funeral. Johnston would die of pneumonia just a few weeks later after becoming deathly ill immediately following the funeral.

Sherman is famous for his "war is hell" & "I'll make Georgia howl" quotes but people don't understand how brutal that campaign was.

Civil War buffs likely know all of this but the man got a census for the state of Georgia so he could pick the path of most destruction through the state which included head counts on cattle, pork, chicken, and 'mills' (cotton and lumber mostly at that time).

I did watch speed racer a long time ago though

Best fucking cartoon ever!

It was about a family that ran a drug empire under the guise of a racing team. Had hookers, cops on the take, everything!

I still remember all the features of the Mach 5

Cartoon was way ahead of it's time.

Best episode of the series was either "The Mammoth Train" or the "Race Under the Volcano" that only opened for 24 hours once a year!

Bingo. Besides obvious cheating I was told the biggest difference in 2016 and 2020 in the state of Georgia in the presidential election was suburban mom’s mostly white voting against Trump
And I think that’s pretty true across the country. I think they just did not like the way he communicated or his Tone. They made the mistake of letting that cloud their judgment instead of looking at what was actually accomplished IMO

Funny how that trend only happened in certain states that were considered 'swing' while other states that are traditionally considered bellwether, like Ohio, simply increased their margin for 45.

It's almost like some fuckery was afoot...

Couple of things.

did I just understand what you typed correctly. You are in favor of the government controlling our lives? And you think general Sherman was heroic or even a good man

The Civil War was another war fought over greed and money. Brother versus brother. Horrible

My great grandfather fought for the state of Georgia in the Civil War after he resigned from West Point.
I also had relatives from the state of New York that fought for the union in the Civil War. Both sides agreed that what Sherman did was atrocious
everybody from Robert E Lee to Ulysses Grant Abraham Lincoln

General Sherman was a fvcking piece of shit

i’m assuming you are from the north if your ancestors supposedly marched with Sherman which actually meant burning raping and pillaging towns in the state of Georgia from Atlanta to savannah . Burning towns to the ground and leaving women and children starving
That bastard should have been hung.
His troops actually destroyed a town that my family was living in with only women and children in it. You say that name down here you’re probably going to get your ass kicked even today

Nothing heroic about what that bastard did

any thoughts on this @TheRealJohnCooper My fellow Georgian

Our ancestors may have been enemies, but we are not. I did not mean to offend by referencing Sherman. I was merely pointing out that my great-great-grandfather fought to save his country. It sounds like yours fought to defend their homes. You're free to disagree with me, but I'll not stand in judgement of either. Despite the many difficulties that go along with it, I defend your right to defend and honor your ancestors. It is important for the world to remember that many Confederate soldiers were defending their families and neighbors rather than the institution of slavery.

Read what I said about government control of our lives a little more closely. Support the exact same thing they support, but give a qualifier that is almost impossible to meet and that allows you to focus on what I think is our key point; they want the government to solve problems, but in reality we have a million problems because the government sucks at fixing them. We absolutely cannot allow it more powers and authority under these circumstances.

We have to win the argument.

You are right we are not enemies. And strangely enough I had ancestors that fought on both sides of the Civil War. The Civil War was horrible and Georgia probably got it the worst.
Take care and God bless

Apparently posted on Dan Scavino’s FB pg...implies Trump about to reveal. Why do that if just a troll? IMO if we give it time, this thing will play out how we hope. Too much weirdness for there not to be a plan.

Nice We can only hope! I think he had another one today/yesterday. "About to break" at a pool table and geolocation was Camp David, iirc.

I hope you are right. I see him completely fucking this country in his first 72hrs and see everything I have worked for to provide a good life for my family just going down the drain. I’m a project superintendent and have 3 jobs going right now and none of them were bid with $5.00 diesel. On a light day, just one of my jobs burns 1,000 gals, that’s a $3,000 increase in cost every day. We are already talking about how many hands we are going to have to cut to compensate for a $15,000/wk cost increase and that’s just in fuel. Doesn’t include any other input costs which are also going to go up. I don’t think most of this country realizes how bad it’s fixing to get.

edit: that’s if fuel goes up that much. That’s what our suppliers are telling us what we could see in the next year.
That's a lot of fuel! Get someone knowledgeable to help you hedge some costs with options trades on oil/fuel. That's what the airlines do.

They, and many others, are about to find out why policy is way more important than decorum.
