Back in 2003 i took my wife to Napa Valley and we stayed at that hotel.
Auberge du Soleil. It was the most expensive room i have ever paid for. 1,500.00 a night. It was indulgent sure. The room had a fireplace with real wood. A nice private deck and great hillside views. Napa at night was about 50 deg F. I also had the best dinner of my life at the restaurant on site. It was a 7 course french dinner with a separate wine paired with each course. Walked back to our room with a great buzz and opened the sliding doors do the deck and the cool air. Lit a nice fire and then crawled into bed with the wife. We had plans of (deleted), but we fell asleep with a warm crackling fire.
It was the best hotel experience i have ever had. Even without the gymnastic and oil (deleted) fest.
