I'm really starting to consider just not enrolling in healthcare and saving like $10k/yr when I never pay enough to "meet my deductable" anyway. What the fuck is insurance for if they don't pay? Doctors charge people with no insurance less anyway. Fuck 'em. May try something like crowdhealth.com

I blew our deductible the F up this year. 3 nights in ICU was $70k just for the bed. Not the doctors, the medicine, or the surgery. Just the stay in ICU

I had a 45-minute vein procedure done on one leg last month.
Oral sedation & outpatient.
Total bill was $25k.
I was fortunate insurance covered very well.
I had a retina detach in July 2024.
General anesthesia & outpatient.
Repair surgery was $33k.
Insurance covered well there, as well.
Neither was foreseen, and I am otherwise healthy for my age.
I am well ahead this decade versus premiums paid.
