The F35 is simply a sales placeholder for the aerospace industry. F22 is superior to the point that we can’t sell it to other countries. Whatever the 6th generation fighter is/ will be out of this world. We can’t sell the 5th generation until 6th is up and running. The aerospace industry needed something to sell to our allies that was designed later than the 70s. Gotta have something available in every budget range to maximize those sales.
