Folks, this is really, really bad…no two ways about it. Something is far more rotten inside the DOJ & w/in the bowels of the USG (likely the IC, probably the WH) than we previously knew.
The excellent reporting by @paulsperry_ is exposing an underbelly of severe corruption that permeates up to the highest levels of our government.
Basic questions to ask (there are however many more) are:
Was Smith detailed to the International Criminal Court from DOJ or from some other part of the USG?
Are these allegations of extortion and corruption known by someone in DOJ, the CIA, the FBI or this WH before he was brought back to assume the biggest case in U.S. history?
What relationship did Smith and former, now disgraced, Senior FBI Agent McGonigal and others in Smith’s office at The Hague have … for instance, it appears there is a Russian connection as well with this bad penny Deripaska coming back into the scene. Was there spying or simply extortion for profit or compromise involved or all the above?
If Smith wasn’t vetted, why not? Did someone at a much higher level know about all this and purposely brought him back to run this case because they had him by the you know what?
