Just left the movies and it was not remotely woke, she's the leading lady yes and is def in the Miriam class of character from raiders.

The opening scene was age digressed and was fantastic. They didn't have any aliens or shia leflop. Would put it 3rd behind raiders and last crusade with slight edge over temple.

The original screening of the movie had Indy die and her pick up the whip and hat and they 'were' going to make her the focus of the franchise going forward. It got brutally bashed by their focus groups and Mangold went back and reshot this movie 3 times. This movie will have to make almost a billion dollars just to break even. They spent wayyyy too much money on this because the first and second shoots were that bad.

From a social war standpoint, you have to look at stuff in total. Disney knew it had a "princess problem" in the 90's. Their customer base was trending more and more to young female. They bought IP's like Pixar, Lucas Films and the MCU to try to increase their customer base among males and especially young males. Once those IP's were in the Disney fold long enough they all started steering toward more women and more non white characters. 80% of those IP's customers were men and most of those men were white. The choice to move away from that wasn't a business or creative choice but were DEI choices exclusively. If they make it work occasionally... I guess good for them.

MCU started out with Capt America, Ironman, Hulk, Guardians, Dr Strange, Thor, Ant man and some female characters that were costars not the main stars. and this is where they are going....

Hemsworth was so pissed at what they did to Thor in the last movie that he has turned down $30million to sign on to more Thor movies... and he's doing war movies now that let him be the hero instead of the but of jokes.


Obviously I am highly biased on this though. Like what you like, obviously. I like zombie movies and I know most of them suck to other people... but thats my thing.
