I've gone inside Sec 8 housing for decades. The amount of "unhealthy" food eaten there is phenomenal. it's not unusual to see several skillets of lard on the stoves that have all been used to fry food. Occasionally, it's so bad that the spewing of grease droplets onto the floor is so great that it is impossible to keep your feet from sliding apart.

I opened one cabinet above the stove at one apartment and there were at least 10 unopened gallon jugs of off brand "crisco" stored inside.

You could argue diet and exercise are the number one problems in America today. People would be much happier if they ate more whole foods, less processed food and exercised (preferably, strength trained).

I would argue that education comes before those. I believe that statistics show better educated people on average live a healthier lifestyle.

I was doing service at a Sec 8 complex in Waco several years ago. The manager asked me to keep a lookout for a man inside an apartment I was to treat. He was not supposed to be living there. I had an apartment employ always go with me to open doors. When I went inside, she stayed outside and spoke with the female tenant. I looked in closets (I have opened closets and found people hiding inside), in other bedrooms and elsewhere while treating. I saw nobody.

I went outside and the lady going with me said the female tenant said the man was inside. As soon as we walked down the stairs 3 Waco policemen ran to the apartment. One policeman ran around to the back of the unit. Between the time I left the unit and the policeman running to the rear, the man appeared and jumped out of the second floor window and took off running. He had hollowed out the underside of a loveseat and simply got behind it and pulled it up to the wall.

He was also wanted for murder.

Same complex months later. I walked around the side of a building into a gun battle between police and one man at the convenience store across the street from the complex. Bullets going wild with one hitting the building next to me. The apartment helper and I took off and ran behind the building we were walking around.
