Plants do this All day long. Sure, we could plant more, but why can’t we repeat this in a laboratory? Photosynthesis uses sunlight and water to trap carbon and create oxygen and food. If this could be reproduced, we could improve it.
We have the ability to create microscopic circuits with microchip tech. Processes such as chemical vapor deposition on a substrate are already old tech. Compounds are being applied microscopically in a 3d printer type operation. Shouldn’t we be able to create a vascular system to do the same as photosynthesis?

I've briefly looked into this whole 'Playboy Mansion' mystery and apparently those tunnel specs were part of a 'Playboy' April fool's article back in 2015.
(Can't tell if it's sincere or perhaps a strategic disinformation ploy?)

The current owner, since 2016, -Daren Metropoulos, also owns the adjacent property to the south, which was designed by the same architect, -Arthur R. Kelly.
Apparently Mr Metropolis has publicly stated his intention to build connecting tunnels between these two properties.
