Edit to add- When I was young we played backyard tackle football regularly (no pads, etc).

When we didn’t have enough boys for a decent game we played smear the queer. When someone’s mom heard what we called it they would usually correct us and say the game is called “kill the man with the ball”. We didn’t care either way because in elementary school we had no idea what the mom was offended by.
