Maybe. Those are “peaker plants” now for the most part that are only used at high peak load times or when the wind isn’t blowing.
I’m checking. Got a call into a buddy who is on the BOD of our electric cooperative. I play golf with several landowners who have windmills on their property and that is where I got my info from.
Edit: Sunflower Electric Power Cooperative owns the coal powered plant in Holcomb, KS. All wind farm electricity goes back east.

Didn't read the whole thing so it could have been stated. Virtually everything needs O&G products to operate and function. Replacing gas operated cars/trucks with electricity will require more producing capacity and massive infrastructure costs. As far as I know there are no solar powered electric generator plants - not these panels on roofs.

What no proponent is saying is the costs to go all electric will be massively expensive and will take decades to accomplish. Much more than currently being spent. To lead the way, put solar panels on AF1 to show the world how it's done. Idiocy fomented by cretins.
The Left wants massively expensive projects. Easier to hide their theft. That is what this is - theft.

THEY ARE COMPLETE BULLSHIT AND A TRANSFER OF THE REMAINING WEALTH OF THE MIDDLE CLASS TO THE ELITES

In Other Words

THEY SUCK COCK!!!!!!
Yah I agree, was just reading the ESG policy on a company my grandson advised me would be a good investment.
Where is a good Robber Baron when you need one.
So where to find an investment which focuses on making max income. I understand the due diligence on environmental issues in relation to not polluting and causing clean up costs to share holders. But my attitude on social issues is "Your Mental Problems Deal With Your Own Shit, FO"

As we saw last winter in Texas, wind turbines can freeze up.
That isn’t even the biggest issue with wind energy. It takes a minimum of 5mph to get a blade turning. When is the most critical need for electricity? Mid day when temps are elevated and houses are trying to cool. When is there the least amount of wind? Mid day. It will not protect us when needed most.

And, cold days have the highest wind. Guess what? Turbines don’t work in wind above 55mph. You might think well it doesn’t get that fast very often. Think about where turbines are placed. On higher elevations and in sparsely populated areas… wind is regularly over that number.

Lastly, the turbines have hydraulic pitch and yaw controls. They also have a gear box. Guess what is in both of those?

Its FN comical to think “green” will ever be green or produce enough energy to support 340mm people.

Solar works on those days but the transfer rate is slightly above 50%… not helpful either.

It’s all about graft and control. Oil made billionaires when millionaires were scarce. Politicians want their slice now.

Any investors on here if so, your thinking on ESG or Environmental, Social and Governance Policies

wife and I manage money for different firms. Governance has been around for about 20 years and is a good thing.

the E and S are bullshit that are nothing more than bullying. The head of my global ESG team actually said they dismiss data that disagrees with what they want to promote.

bottom line, until the wokeness is dead, it’s here to stay.
