The weapons left behind have been estimated to have a cost of $80 billion. $80 billion is more than every nation on earth that isn't the U.S. or China spends on defense each year.
I think Xi ordered Biden to leave those weapons and equipment. So China can pick through the best of it, and also spares them the cost of arming their new business partners, the taliban.
