Eric Clapton is one of the greatest artists ofour time. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain he went through, its not even on my radar. Amazing musician

That sounds delicious and you sound spoiled like I am with snapper and grouper. Keep living the life. SKOL!

so here I am watching Olympic trials for diving. I can't tell you how blown away I am (again) that most of these divers....I judged and my daughters competed with/ are friends. They all still talk.

it's just mind blowing that I've known and watched these amazing athletes (and make no mistake, the training they put in on top of the board work and actual dive training is brutal) grow up from tiny 6 year old adorable divers to now.

USA is going to absolutely dominate.

And if you're watching, yes... most USA divers started as gymnasts. And the work they have to put in to transition to diving is even more mind blowing. And they make it look like nothing. Gymnastics flipping and dive flipping is very different.

Can't begin to calculate the hours I've spent at IUPUI (GREAT facility)

Hope youre right, no expert , but dont those asians dive they assses off

We could work a fish box trade. I got some halibut trips coming up as the water warms. I'll have plenty of salmon, lingcod and yelloweye.
I’ll take the halibut all day. one of my favorite fish. We eat flounder down here which is very similar. I’m not familiar with the other outside the salmon and cod. But I’m game.

I’ve been wanting to share my story from last weekend about spear fishing but it’s so much to type. Interaction with 600+ Goliath grouper, sharks attacking my buddies fish. It’s a novel for 25 minutes in rough seas. We got in and out and it was badass. Intense but fucking awesome.

Is this your daughter? good for her and best of luck for her and her dreams
It is. The summer before she went to St. Bonaventure on athletic and academic scholarship. That was AAU Nationals. (USA Nationals was the next week) A good friend who happens to be an amazing photographer took that pic (if anyone is in NC and wants a great photographer, DM me. She's amazing and the nicest person you will ever meet. And ridiculously talented)

My girl's back and knees had enough and she couldn't dive anymore. She's still in physical therapy. When I tell you the stress these athletes put on their bodies and the insane training to be able to do what they do... I'm very serious. The dedication they have, as all athletes do, is crazy.

She transferred to Dayton and graduated this year. She's moving to Cincy and has a job with the one company she really wanted to work for.

She still coaches for her club team and loves the sport.

That.girl.worked. She had to work harder than most. She's 5'10". Not easy completing a dive on 1M when you're that tall, but not heavy/strong enough to dip the board. But goodness, she loved and rocked tower.

Even though she can't physically compete anymore, what she learned through the sport and is taking forward in life is priceless.

Someone shop some of those super blocky old people glasses on Joe, and its perfect!
I forgot to include in my rundown how horrifically ugly Dr. Jill's shoes are. If one has big ol slappy feet, one does not wear sling back, point toe mid heels... especially when those varicose veins are popping. And I cannot stress this enough...a lady does not meet the queen sans pantyhose.... never mind that mess up there. I'm not kidding. It's a pretty big deal.

Most here know I'm a shoe snob. 🤣

I mean...c'mon man.

Just bad.

You crack me/us up. Keep at it.
Just take a few minutes to look at that pic.

It's a shitshow.

Even her suit isn't tailored to fit. As for potatus... we're just happy somebody managed to wrangle him into his pants. Aviators indoors=hat at the table. Tacky and disrespectful.

Sorry. I'm a very Texas girl who learned from a very young age that appropriate dress and decorum for the occasion matters. And, yes...it does.

I'm seriously triggered at this. This may be my breaking point.🤣

I mean.... you are classless enough that you can't figure out (no, wait...flatly ignoring) decorum? It's not like any of this is a secret judgy rule. It's not even about the monarchy. The lady is 95 years old. She has her b expectations and is graciously hosting you (and your potato husband insulted her, btw). You cater to her out of common courtesy and respect.

Geez.. I'm 48 and keep a few pairs of stockings on hand for those couple of times every year with my mother in law that they need to be donned. So do my girls.

Rod Rosenstein the white/black hat double agent man? So much shit has gone down since the election I can't recall what the final verdict was on RR. Many a pages clicked off over the years discussing this man. Feels like a movie being rolled out, doesn't it? haha SKOL Patriots!
RR is one of, if not the biggest enigma for me.

We are supposed to believe that RR/Mueller are tied together and with their known history they certainly seem to represent the D.C. swamp well.

Trumps DOJ was of course "Republican" - but one, according to the D.C. swamp, isn't like the others. Senate confirmation votes show this clearly.

Sessions 52-47
Barr - 54-45
RR - 94-6

The confirmation votes show he was clearly trusted by the D.C. swamp on both sides because they knew not only his past but his wife's as well. It is interesting to remember who voted Nay against RR confirmation:

Blumenthal (D-CT)
Masto (D-NV)
Gillibrand (D-NY)
Booker (D-NJ)
Harris (D-CA)
Warren (D-MA)

All pretty much for the same reason - RR wouldn't fully commit to a special prosecutor or if he did, he would make them completely independent. Gillibrand voted Nay because she was constantly touting her voting record against Trump cabinet nominations publicly - voting Yea only two times out of 29. One of those two btw was for Nikki Haley as UN ambassador🤔

Trump nominated Sessions for AG November 2016

Trump nominated RR to deputy AG on 2/1/17 - less than two weeks after his inauguration.

Sessions recuses himself on 3/2/17

RR 94-6 confirmation vote 4/25/17

Comey fired 5/9/17 by Trump with public blessing from RR

Mueller and Rosenstein have meeting with Trump on 5/16/17 - media portrayed the 4 hour meeting as Trump trying to get Mueller to be FBI director, even though we all knew that Mueller was ineligible because he had already served 12 combined years - the last two as a special appointment by Obama as soon as he took office. 🤔

No sh*t, the next fvcking day - 5/17/17, Rosenstein appoints Mueller Special Prosecutor. Most, if not all ITT remember that sh*t.

And we can't forget about McCabe telling anyone who would listen that RR was trying to wear a wire when he was meeting with Trump to validate their 25th amendment removal BS.

RR also signed the last extension for the phony FISA warrant against the Trump campaign. Was he complicit in that fvckery or is he right by saying he was just an affiant singing off on it because he had "presumed" that all Woods Procedures were followed making all the statements in the FISA extension true? Of course once the sh*t starting BG hitting the fan, RR said publicly that he wouldn't have signed off on it if he knew what fvckery was actually going on. 🤔

Folks, I'm going to stop rambling because this could go on and on but timelines and votes are telling to me. @Viking could be right about RR being a "double agent". He has done things to seemingly help both sides. Was he Trumps Trojan horse? Maybe, maybe not - that's what makes him an enigma to me. Time will tell, future will prove past.

Hey, my wife and I are thinking about going out to Cincinnati this fall to check out the area. Any thoughts? We got the idea from a couple groups of friends who were just out there. One couple went out to the Noah's Ark deal and said it was incredible. Another highly recommended that National Air Force Museum, up in Dayton. Those are both things that are interesting to us, along with getting some Glier's goetta while we're there.

Hey, my wife and I are thinking about going out to Cincinnati this fall to check out the area. Any thoughts? We got the idea from a couple groups of friends who were just out there. Looking for a fun place to visit or looking at a place that you might move?

I'll answer for visiting....

The USAF museum is incredible. I actually like it more than the Smithsonian (I've been to both more than once or thrice. I never get tired of the USAF museum here). If you like history and a (hopefully nice fall day) Carrilon Park in Dayton should not be skipped.

That said, Dayton isn't Cincy. And, Ohio haters...shut it. A TON of our beloved country's history was born here and there are much worse places to live and raise a family.

I really like Cincy and Dayton for different reasons. I'm a Dallas girl so Cincy gives me a little bit of that big city *home* vibe between trips home. But that's more shopping and dining. I'm usually popping down to West Chester or Hyde Park (WC every day right now thanks to Max's lacrosse). It is a cool, safe city to enjoy. I could live there, easily. With my daughter moving there, I'm actually looking forward to more reason to spend time down there. She's going to live in Marimount and work in Hyde Park. (Both just great areas)

I can tell you more about Dayton and cool places to visit here than I can Cincy. (But I can give you hotel and restaurant recs for Cincy if you want to have a very happy wife and a fun weekend. My husband and I try to 'escape' the whopping 50 minutes down 75 once a month).

It may be nerdy, but I love the aquarium and I and the kids really love the Cincinnati Museum. I like the building (I love architecture... and I'm still arguing hard that Ohio is not Midwest) and there's always great exhibits/artists in addition to their fixed museums.

I think The Ark is about 1.5 hours down in KY? I haven't been. If y'all go, I would love to hear your feedback.

We (both cities) have lots of independent breweries, great dining and just a cool vibe if you know what to look for.

@Nape is someone to reach out to, as is @316what
