Where's the fish?
I just recently went with the Garmin UHD 93SV. So far I'm happy with them. Went from Lowrance to these. Better price point and does what I need them too.Maybe this is the right thread for my question. I'm looking at upgrading the fish finder on my boat (18' Sea Ray open bow), so it's not a typical bass boat but works great for family activities and does okay for fishing. I went and looked at some last night, and am currently thinking about either a Lowrance or a Garmin. I'm willing to spend up to $1,500 if needed, but obviously, would prefer to spend less if I can get a good quality product at that price point. Any recommendations?
Also, I'll be mostly fishing Lake Mead, Lake Mojave, and the Colorado River.
How do you rig it?Not on mobile, so no pics. But I posted my favorite plastic in the other thread. Bass Pro 'Stik-O' Worm in Watermelon Magic. It's literally been a cheat code for me catching bass. Last big one was around 10lbs. Unfortunately urban development has cleared the woods and destroyed that lake.
We are in a small boat/kayak series. Eight tournaments all together across Eastern Nebraska small NRD flood control lakes.Entered a tournament series with my dad at our local lake this year. Small series, only 4 tourneys & about 15ish boats. Finished 4th the first week and middle of the pack last Saturday. Beat the banks with spinner baits and a 4” fluke trailer. White/chart spinner baits with a big Colorado and little willow leaf blades. Caught lots of fish but only 2 keepers. Next tourney will be middle of June so probably switch to soft plastics. Texas rigged zoom brush hogs in black w/ blue flake and wacky rigged senkos in green pumpkin. Maybe some jigs around heavy cover but our lake doesn’t have a ton of heavy cover. Mostly rip rap points off the main channel and some sunken brush piles by that point.
Where you at?No a huge bass fisher but here’s some recent ones.

Cranks are where it's at. Get a good fiberglass pole. You cover more ground also.Entered a tournament series with my dad at our local lake this year. Any particular model you recommend? The 93SV looks like it's going for $1,100, with the mapping including, and there's a $200 rebate right now.Sold BOTH for years.....buy the Garmin (& save money) and you will be happy and well taken care of.
