My son wants to protest masks

He is 12 years old and along with a dozen or so friends want to protest masks by refusing to wear one the last day of school. I support him 100% and we have talked many times about standing up for what we believe in and this is a big deal to him. On the other hand I also worry he could make himself a target the rest of his time there. Some of the teachers have been mask Nazis and I'm guessing there will be some blowback. We've talked about potential consequences and he said they won't do jack since it is the last day and I agree.

He needs to be well organized with the other kids to make sure it has the wanted impact. If the kids all across the country, from early elementary through college, did it......what the hell could the teachers and admins do?

Its either: A.) Send all the kids home and make the day hell for parents, which makes the educational system look bad

B.) The teachers and admins go home out of their own protest, which also makes the educational system look bad or

C.) The teachers and admins shrug their shoulders and say screw it, and teach the kids like a normal. Win.

I am totally against MASKS and all this BS. BUT I am also TOTALLY AGAINST TURN KIDS INTO PROTESTERS.

I'm all pretzeled up like a lib in a baby nursery.

This is what I tell people that are angry when other people do not wear masks in public.

I tell them to not go out in public. The world need shut-ins too.

These people need to start being shut-ins. Agoraphobics do the same thing and live fine.

I totally agree with not using kids as political pawns. My co worker's in laws take his kids to green rallies and I give him shit every time it happens.

This situation is different. At 12 years old(13 in a month) my son has decided this on his own. I am sure my lack of giving a fuck about wearing a mask has influenced him, but I never once suggested he protest. The thought never crossed my mind. He is at a rebellious age. Better the school take him on than me. I am quite certain I would have done the same @ his age. These kids have had over a year stolen from them and they are saying enough is enough.

Seminole county FL school board is voting tonight about whether to continue mask mandate or not. We are 90 minutes into public comment which is 100% extremely pro parent choice (anti mask) plus one cool old black dude talking about something else altogether. People are worked up and calling out the school board for their BS. I think they are halfway through public comments. This is great entertainment.

this is the same school board that hired a white guy as our new superintendent, then rescinded his offer and gave the job to a local black lady who was a school board lawyer for years (no education background). They are probably getting sued for that too.

Absolutely agree with this statement 100%! This could be the thing that defines your boy for the rest of his life! And to have it happen at such a young age...damn. Jealous man.
