• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

mRNA is the future!

The first paragraph of the linked article now says

"Dec 10 (Reuters) - Moderna Inc (MRNA.O) executives called on investors to wait for more data amid a sharp selloff in its shares on Friday, after early data showed its mRNA-based flu vaccine was no better than already approved shots in the market."

You can't make this stuff up.

The fact that it already produces the same effect as comparable vaccines on the market while still have room for massive improvement shows we should be switching this and everything else to mRNA as soon as possible.

Ya, why even cut any part at all? Everyone should just cook an entire cow at once because of the flavor packet. Any cutting magically destroys said flavor packet.

This Chief Scientific Officer thinks we are designing the vaccine incorrectly. He is NOT saying the current vaccine is harmful, he just makes the case that the vaccines need to be designed with a focus on t-cells and not antibodies.

Great investing ideas at the very end of the article. Companies Nykode and Gritstone could be interesting companies to invest in.
