I did hack squat (barbell), incline DB press, flat bench DB press, DB flyes and abs this morning.

If your seeing body composition changes but the scale isn’t moving much that is a huge win. It doesn’t last long so enjoy while you can.
Yeah, I was just a bit surprised to be gaining muscle so quickly. When you say it doesn't last long, are you saying that I'm more likely to gain or lose weight? I had a goal to drop some weight, and still have 10-15 pounds to lose, but I suppose gaining muscle will make it harder to drop weight.

How much do you do on DB fly's, relative to DB Bench press? I had some shoulder issues over the past year, so haven't jumped into any fly's yet.

This is where I have been living for the past 4 months. Scale not moving much at all, but seeing better waist.

I would like to see the scale move again though.

How much do you do on DB fly's, relative to DB Bench press? I had some shoulder issues over the past year, so haven't jumped into any fly's yet.
It’s kind of all over the place. I was doing 15 lbs for 15 reps today and it felt easy on the flyes. DB bench was 35 lbs for 12 reps and also felt easy. I’d up the flyes by 5 lbs but the bench is going to go up more proportionality so I wouldn’t read into it. Just do what feels comfortable and then push from there. If it hurts than back down until it doesn’t hurt. DB flyes are harder on your shoulder than a flye machine would be due to your position lying down vs sitting down.

I may start trying to bring in some DB fly's, as long as there's absolutely no pain. Probably 10 pounds, which is definitely light, but not worth risking further injury. On second thought, I think I'll wait a couple weeks and keep getting my shoulders, chest, and back stronger before even trying to add fly's.

Training for the Murph workout. Today's workout was:
10 minute treadmill
80 pull ups
160 push ups
240 body weight squats
15 minute treadmill

Some of the Pull ups were ugly, but getting better. Broke them up into sets of 10 pulls, 20 push ups, 30 squats

What is it?

Not really sure but it's an alternative medicine/nutrition idea that the shape, frequency, etc of water determines its contribution to our health, vitality, etc

Of course there are hundred of devices for sale and skeptics who think it is a scam, though it might be

Obviously our tap water is tmalered with many things and inferior to whatever the highest quality of water is

Measured ketones in blood this morning and it was 2.0 mmol/L. That is the first time I have measured that high not after exercise. Finally I am somewhat deep nutritional ketosis.

Just got to keep in it. I had to go to grocery store last night and damn those stuffed twizzlers were calling my name. I mean really calling my name. Evil fucks at the grocery store know what they are doing with those displays!! Bastards!

However, I overcame and bought a pack of pepperoni and chomped down!!!

Been doing cardio all week, but legs were D.E.A.D. last night. I had to stop early.

Going to have to lift some iron tonight until legs get right.

Nice work. I've been staying on the workouts and improving quite a bit there, but need to tighten up on the eating. I was out of town on a vacation last week and put the weight back on that I had worked to lose the previous week. Oh well, I'm in it for the long haul.

Dang man, that sucks. Do you have to get that surgically fixed, or just wait to let it heal?
So the thought is that I actually tore the labrum years back. I remember the specific event and my shoulder has been messed up for years.

You can live and still participate athletically with some degree of torn labrum as long as you can manage the pain and compensate for it with other muscles - which is what I had been doing

But in the last couple weeks I did something to make it worse and I’ve lost some movement and a lot of strength there

I’m gonna get the surgery as soon as I can so I can get to rehabbing asap

That sucks. Sorry to hear that. What's the recovery time from a surgery like that?

MRI tomorrow on shoulder and meeting with surgeon on 24th. Ready to get this done so I can start rehabbing.

Trying to get my weight down now that I’m not going to be burning near as many calories. Been tracking meals with MyFitnessPal

Is that a free app, or a paid one? I use the fitbit app to track food sometimes, but haven't been as strict lately. I'm still working out but weight has stagnated a bit. Was around 217 this morning, which isn't bad, but not where I want to be yet.

It’s free. Although the seem to have gotten where they really want to jam the premium option down your throat

How's everyone doing on the health front these days? I've been getting my workouts in, 3-4 days per week and am definitely noticing a difference now. I'm down to about 215, so the weight hasn't dropped as quickly as I'd like it to, but I've put on muscle too, so it's better than the fat that was there before.

Lately, been doing 1 full cardio day, 1 day of pushing exercises, 1 day of pulling exercises, and a fourth day of miscellaneous, depending on how I'm feeling.

I think my recent travels have messed up my overall weight loss a bit too, as I've been out of town for a bunch of weekends in a row, which usually makes for larger and more frequent meals than I would when at home. Either way, still pushing along, with my eyes still set on a 200 to 205 weight.

I eat what I want, when I want...I do push-ups, and smoke heaters...fortunately I have a high metabolism, and at a gigantic 5'9" I weight a whopping 165lbs, I am extremely intimidating...to no one

Haha, nice. As I've gotten older, my metabolism is slowing down, plus since I work in an office, I'm sitting down most of the day. So if I don't want to be a fat, I need to monitor it better. Plus, with the health issues I had this year, I just want to take better care of the things that I can control.
