The law isn't finalized but the use is widespread now and it happened so quickly. It would be difficult to try to reign it in at this point. What may affect the use of weed is the government has been anti-smoking for years and there are fines for smoking cigarettes in non-designated places (aprox. $70).
I am sure children will be affected but is that as important as a billion-dollar industry.
I am also curious if weed replaces yaba (meth) as the drug of choice for Thai people.
