Massie, who has been stabbing his constituents in the back for a year, has lost the support of the White House and the Republican Party.
President Trump says he'll officially endorse Gaines when her candidacy is finalized.

Isn't it also possible this was disseminated as a ruse of a ruse? With the secrecy of taking Maduro out and the Iranian nuke sites, it's doubtful they would be this forthcoming of what may happen when/if it happens. It could be to let "others" know where the hiding places are. Or let them know they can't hide.
