• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Off topic but this is the thread I want answers from. Anybody have experience with DMSO? Topically, orally, eye drops?
I use it. Best to get it on AMZN for purity.

You can get it from BigR or Tractor Supply. Comes in two strengths. 70% and 99%. A gel.

If you have thick skin like horse hide 99%. Else it will burn a bit.

Makes you taste garlic instantly (10secs). Have to make sure skin is CLEAN, as dmso will send anything into the body. It's a solvent in that regard.

It's used on horses for inflamation.

I did DMSO that I got at tractor supply for painful tendinitis I had in my right bicep area. It was put on topically. I've heard DMSO is good for that but it didn't really help me any. After about three months of pain I finally went and got a Cortisone shot and that completely stopped the pain.

Myself and the shield maiden use it all the time. Great anti-inflammatory. Works on bump, bruises and all sorts of other ailments. I use the 70% cream with aloe. Some of the higher percentage balms can burn for a little bit. There are several good brands. I use this because my local Natural Pantry carries it. Works great! Skol!

Have used it topically on my knees. Never in or around the eyes.

It worked to ease the inflammation and pain, but, I haven't used it in about 40 years. The liquid gave me a faint garlic taste. Never used the cream or gel. Stopped using it when I switched to oral anti-inflammatory meds.

I ordered the book Healing with DMSO by Amanda Vollmer off Amazon. She sells DMSO and DMSO eye drops. She pretty expensive and I plan to make my own eye drops. Much cheaper on dmsostore.com

I just put some of the eye drops in my eyes after reading your post. It stings for about 10 seconds but my vision immediately improves. (Cayenne pepper eye drops helps to) She recommends also using saline eye drops to prevent dry eyes. I really need do it daily but always forget. She recommends also to put a tsp of DMSO in juice for more effectiveness. I guess it enhances the vitamin C and it also made me have to run to the bathroom a few hours later

I’ve used DMSO on my back and I swear the next day I feel good. It burns depending on how much it’s diluted and it makes the back extremely itchy. When we were first experimenting with it I had my wife put it around her eyes for wrinkles. She was almost in tears immediately after as it was fucking hot and had to put her face under the faucet 😂

I buy the 99.9% pure and cut it with saline or 100% pure aloe. I cut it to 40-50% DMSO when I put it on my back. Clean you hands before and after using as DMSO acts as a carrier. At some point I need to try it on my knees. Hope this helps and wasn’t too long winded
