• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Point is, they are never gonna just leave you alone. While I certainly do appreciate you standing this site up. They certainly do not. As we speed towards even more civil unrest I think we will all be expending more time and energy keeping what little liberty we have left. It is gonna impact us all and already has in one way or another. Hell, our complacency in allowing online censorship lead us here. So here we are and how much more is gonna be lost before it gets really uncomfortable? Skol brother!

Don't understand. All Abbott did was establish 21 as the age to buy this. Up until now anyone at any age could by this. Everything else remains the same until 2027 and the next Legislature. I think this is reasonable. I didn't read anything in the EO prohibiting the possession of these products.

Look at is as economic development. There will be a new industry of over 21 y/o's buying this stuff for underage people.

Keep in mind I've been drinking a bit...Im just pissed that heard others talked big shit about punishing the Demonrats for their recent transgressions and this was another failure by the TX Pubes... maybe I misread/misinterpreted the original post, which is highly likely. My apologies if that was the case here.

I have a ton of respect for you and I know we haven’t always seen eye to eye, but we all have to play our roles here.

I am probably wrong in saying that I don’t participate in politics, because a stand for free speech is a political stance.

I do best in dealing with absolutes and politics is not black and white. However, there are some aspects that are black and white for me. Suppression of thoughts, ideas and communication of such is a no for me. What happened to Charlie Kirk is a no for me.

Otherwise, I feel the best use of my resources is to facilitate. There are people that have better minds for working in these grey areas, but I usually find flaws in their conclusions because I am overly critical. I can argue myself in circles so I think it’s best to just leave everyone else out of what goes on inside my head

Example is compelling someone to use correct pronouns.. I really don’t care about this issue, but heaven forbid you call a dude with an Adams apple that dresses like a woman the wrong pronoun.

I've often said about many social issues: "I don't care. I really don't. You be you. . . . Until you MAKE ME CARE. Once you make me care, I'll REALLY care. And it may not be the way you want."

There is only one absolute in politics, "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" We don't have guns to shoot quail after Sunday church with grandpa. It is because our founding fathers knew this absolute truth. I am not attacking you and didn't mean to come across as harsh as it did. We all have parts to play and if being political for you means pulling the lever at your local, state, and national elections than be political.

Understand. I've been for casino gambling and legal MJ sales due to all the tax revenue lost to surrounding states. It's an individual's choice to participate. 2027 is just the next time the Legislature convenes unless Abbott calls another special session. Highly doubtful. If Patrick is still Lt. Gov. I fully expect him to try to ban it again. By then it could be a bigger industry.

And that should scare all of us.
We live in a world where people preach “freedom of speech”…
