That's what that Space Weather guy talks about. Cosmic dust builds up on surface of the sun. Yellow sun appears more white and less bright. At some point it will go through a micro nova that will eject that upper layer off the suns surface. Astronomers have seen 3 micronovas occur the last few years. It was thought to be impossible, but they saw what they thought was a nova and then when they looked at that area later the star was still there.
