It’s 2025 and more Boomers retire (literally because they’re so fucking old they can’t move) - let’s say you have a 75 year old Boomer today that retired 10 years ago when they were 65. Let’s assume they worked since they were 21 so 44 years… so for 44 years that boomer was in the workplace while his/her boomer colleagues in financial power positions were leading financial policy - oh for about 30 years or so…Even so - how is it that boomers should be blamed for it?
Maybe look at those who have been in charge of financial policy the past 30 years.

This. Exactly. Take the numbers away and look at spending power. Boomers had tons more. But that’s not the issue. And FWIW, I’ve busted my ass my entire life - which is sort of why I have this take. I saw my mom and dad have similar jobs but have the absolute ability to acquire things easier. The issue is the the combination of all of the advantages economically the Boomers inherited and that they just consumed those advantages not thinking about future generations.Just put a 22yr of trade worker into a house Monday. He was not trying to buy a house like his parents had him accustomed to while growing up. He found something he could afford which may not be in the area or be as nice as they want. It can be done, but most clients I have in the under 30 range want to buy a house like thier parents own and that's not realistic.
I never disagree that it's harder now b/c of the points you made. I just don't see how boomers caused the government to rip us off at every turn.
