That's quite the generalization....

*Mom of a former D1 female athlete.

My daughter worked as hard as my son does She gave up most of her social life for her sport. All of us parents supported and encouraged each of the girls and boys on her team and helped each other out with travel/work/family balancing so each of those kids could compete at that level. All but 3 of my daughter's teammates went DI. The other 3 went D2.

I had no different experience with my daughter's teammates and their parents than i do with my son's (who will most likely play in college).

Yep, completely agree! While women are limited in competing in these sports against their male counterparts, it definitely isn't because of their hard work or dedication!

That being said, I die laughing at Megan Rapinoe incessant bitching about women's soccer players not being paid enough! I have two older sisters and the one closest age wise was a very good athlete but only played basketball and softball her whole life. Softball was for church but, despite being only 4'11(on a good day), she played school basketball on a very good 4A team in South Carolina. Then she goes to college and plays intramural basketball where the soccer coach sees her playing and asks her to come out for the soccer team. She tells coach she's never played in her life and he tells her to come out and see if she likes it and can compete...And of course, she makes the squad and starts for 4 years straight🤷‍♂️ But, apparently, we should pay Rapinoe a billion dollars for something so hard!

Haven't bought anything nike in 2 years. Don't even really watch any sport that Nike is the main sponsor anymore either.

Been one of my hardest things to drop. We used to be some of the people of Walmart but, when the shutdowns started, that changed. I made the decisions to buy all meat and eggs from a local farm and start shopping at Food Lion and make it a point to buy everything made in the US, if possible. We cut out ~90% of our Amazon spending. I have a made a major effort to only buy things made here, even though it has raised the cost of our shopping. Nike has been hard to drop for me. I've always loved how their shoes fit my feet and always been a matching person(very OCD) so I have to have shorts and shorts for playing ball and running. But, this is it for me...So now I've got to try to find an American made shoe, if there is any company that still does that.

You can try New Balance. But as a former industry worker(Nike for 12 years), their "Made in America" campaign is somewhat misleading.
They still source and assemble their shoes overseas. However they do the "finishing stitch" stateside. This allows them to say we are MiA.
Good luck on that score BTW.

So, today I got a "Breaking news" notification talking about how NC is about to have a bunch of special forces training across 24 counties the next month or so. It talked about the number of special forces trainees, other agencies and civilians that would be used along with other things. Got me wondering about how many of these, tragic events, are actually just these training exercises?

not certain, but I’d bet it’s about Robin Sage.
