Federal Courts have a broader jurisdiction geographically from a jury pool standpoint, so the jury pool can extend beyond just the typical Manhattanite libs. Federal juries are viewed as typically better and more responsible than State juries, but that is debatable. The charges must be tied to some activity that is the basis for the charges. If Diddy ventured out of Manhattan physically or virtually for the basis of even some of the charges, venue could move. But if the majority of the charges are in Manhattan, that is where the trial will likely be.
